About Bayou Jamb Sports Awards

The Bayou Jamb Sports Awards aims to celebrate and honor the outstanding achievements of athletes in Ouachita Parish and schools affiliated with Bayou Jamb through participation. This annual event is dedicated to recognizing the best student-athletes, coaches, and teams across the region while acknowledging those who contribute to the advancement of high school sports, including media professionals, volunteers, and supportive businesses.

Purpose

The Bayou Jamb Sports Awards is more than just an awards ceremony—it’s a celebration of excellence, dedication, and perseverance. It provides a platform to honor the remarkable achievements of our athletes both on and off the field, as well as those who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing student-athlete success.

Nomination Process

  • ADs and Head Coaches at eligible schools are asked to submit their top two athletes on offense and defense in each sport.
  • The submitted names are reviewed by a panel of North Louisiana media sports professionals, who then select the finalists for each category.
  • All nominees are invited to attend the celebration for free, with finalists being notified in advance.
  • Winners must be in attendance to receive their award or have a representative receive on their behalf.
